Why
is it good for the birder?
Conveniently situated in the heart of the
Cape Peninsula, it is very close to a number of prime birding
spots, such as Kommejie and Boulder's Beach, and the pelagic
departure point in Simonstown. Its central position on the
Peninsula also makes it a good base from which to explore
further afield. Birding begins in the two acre garden and
a wetland across the road boasts 70 species. Chris Spengler
is an avid birder and has local area knowledge & can give
advice. Afton Grove is used by numerous national & international
birding tour operators.
